So Halloween is over, and the rest of the holidays are starting. Thanksgiving, Christmas and new years are just around the corner. Does everyone have their Christmas shopping done yet? What plans do you all have for the holidays?

Sheriff,
I have not done any Christmas shopping, nor even thought about it. I am one of those guys that waits until Dec. 1 to start "thinking" about what to get everyone!
As for, Thanksgiving....I am to close on a house deal, just before,
Thanksgiving..so, I will likely be moving during that holiday. Hopefully, I will be unpacked before Christmas.
My son and his gf are coming for Christmas, so, the Holidays are looking good for me!
And, for New Year's Eve....I think, we should all meet in Vegas and PARTY!!!
Today (11/2 -- maybe yesterday, depending on when the post will air) was a holiday here. Day of the Dead.
No relation with George Romero, just a day to pray for our R.I.P. ones.
11/20 is the Day of the Black People's Conscience. Sort of a "excuse us for beating and slavering you guys, that won't happen any more, although you're gonna be prime suspects to any crime and the lowest class working force" kind of memorial day.
Then, Xmas and New Year.
I'm planning to go to the beach next holiday, which will be on a Friday, leaving behind a 3 days weekend, like this one had been.
For Christmas, I'm buying some Chinese craps and panetone + wine to give to my and to my wife's aunts and cousins (6 aunts on each side + the cousins). We're gonna take our daughter to my parents' house and leave her there for two weeks so they can enjoy a time with her--that's when I'll take the crappy stuff to them. I have the Christmas shopping halfway done.
Xmas and New Years Eve, we're going to go to my father in law's house, for my mom-in-law has passed away in July, so it's gonna be hard for him to go through it this year without her and we're gonna be there for him.
I have 3/4 of my husbands christmas gift. I have the supplies to make the gift for his aunt, got my MIL's gift organised, have 3/4 of one of my SIL's gift (I have 4 of them, and my husband has 5 nieces and nephews, so the other 3 and their families are getting baked goods)
I have my BILs gift, know what Im getting for hubbys cousin and his wife but its not purchased yet, same deal for his grandparents, and his father.
Still no idea what im doing for his uncle and step father, but I have 9 weeks to work it out.
christmas day is hectic for us... morning with his parents, then lunch with his mothers side of the family, then afternoon at his sisters mother (they are half sisters) so he can spend time with them and his father, then on to my SIL's MIL for an outrageous party.
Im tired just thinking about it.
Im glad I start buying gifts from feb or I would be screwed come this time of year... I only listed hy husbands family.... I have 9 siblings and 10 cousins, not to mention cousins kids and my aunts and uncles etc.
Leo, You guys only have one day for the "sorry about the whole slavery thing"? up here it' the entire month of February.
Evangeline, i wish i could say i know how you felt, but I am an only child, and i only inherited one sister in law when i got married. I do have 3 kids though, so needless to say, christmas day will be spent removing assorted dolls and such from their ridiculous amounts of packaging.
I normally serve Thanksgiving dinner to a whole slew of people. This year I have twice the relatives! But how that is going to come off depends on the disaster that is our attic construction. The new completion target date is Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, we have mattresses stacked in the dining room, a bedroom set up in the living room, and a porch full of furniture. Sigh.
I don't sweat too much over Christmas. Events happen, dinner is served, gifts are opened. The kids know we can't afford much this year. We just hope we'll eventually have room to put up a tree somewhere.
Thanksgiving, my whole family gathers, cooks, eats, watches football, plays cards. Repeat. For 4 days straight.
And I shop like a guy when it comes to Christmas. I wait until a week before, go to one mall, and buy everything all at once. Then I spend christmas eve wrapping everything and watching The Christmas Story marathon.
I have spent the last long-weekend-holiday on the beach. One day of sun, one day of rain, half day of a mild-sunny day and I'm black. I don't need too much to darken my skin...

Oh bogus... I forgot the posting time counts on your time zone, not mine. So, never mind last post's first parenthesis.

Tim, have you been swimming on a sake-filled hot tub?
Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.......Monkey hair in the sake.......
Yeaahhhhh.
Sorry 'bout that.
This is why we need to keep you shaved Tim. Hygenic reasons.
I'm going out to a Japanese restaurant tonight. I'll try the bomb.
What I can tell you is that Thanksgiving will involve lots of pie.
Me baking lots of pies that is.
Apple. Pumpkin. And chocolate cream!
