Quebec is a beautiful city.
I hear Santa Fe is nice too.
But if my fav places to visit are Paris, Rome and Sydney.
If you are heading to party - Vegas, Cancun or Madrid.
If you are looking for sun - Barbados, Aruba or Miami
if you are looking for outdoor adventure I'd add New Hampshire and Colorado to Chad & Sheriffs list.
Baierman, honestly at the moment New York and Vancouver are at the top of my list. I am really feeling for a big city after being stuck on this island (barbados) for so long... its just like living in a small town here LOL.
Leo, Fernando de Noronha looks gorgeous, but I wanted to travel somewhere that was mostly english speaking, I am really really terrible with languages.
I think im just going to end up telling my husband to buy me a ticket and tell me what weather to pack for, otherwise I get the feeling that it will be another 3 years before I get away LOL
At one point it was where I spent any time I could take off (I was in a long distance relationship and he lived there). It's a lively party on Bourbon Street, tons of great music, (sometimes spontaneously on the street) and it has great museums, historical spots and shopping if you need to walk away from the daiquiri for a bit.
Cafe du Monde is a must see place for a snack and forget Emeril's--the place you need to eat dinner is Commander's Palace.
check out the "Not For Tourists" website, look at New Orleans, and see if it appeals to you...
Northern Kentucky is wonderful this time of year. Theres a university with like, NCAA Division 7 teams. We also have an aquarium with penguins, a water tower that says "Y'ALL", angry police cops and for the low price of 60 dollars an hour you can come to my apartment and watch me play World of Warcraft. It'll be a real hootenanny, I'll tell you what.
Not to hijack the thread or anything, but what is the deal with that water tower anyway, w1de? Did it used to say Florence Mall and then some pranksters whitewashed part of the 'M'? Why didn't the city fix that?
From my understanding, it did originally say "Florence Mall" but it broke some law about advertising and what you can/cant use to hock something, they changed to "Y'all." Again, that just what I heard but it kinda makes sense.
One more reason to visit rustic and charming Northern Kentucky, and that is the U.F.O. house. Seriously. When you cross into Kentucky from Cincinnati via I-75, theres a house on the hill that looks like a U.F.O.
Evangeline,
I, myself, am making plans for a Get-a-way.
New Orleans, is a Great place to visit. Listen to S.O. "Commander's Palace" is well worth the visit! Also, If you can, have dinner on one of the River Boats, you will not be disappointed. Cruise down the Mississippi, enjoy dinner and a Dixie Land Band. Walk down Royal Street and hang out at one of the
Micro-Breweries.
Oh, and, earn your beads on Bourbon Street!! (Oh, and look for the signs that say, "Big Ass Beers")
I am checking into visiting the coast of Maine. I have always wanted to go, but, really do not know where to start. So, I am looking for advice. Where and When to go?
Need tour guide: Attractive female, 37 - 49 yrs, no debt, owns home, self-supportive, no kids, good attitude, easy, bad at math.....
(mine + yours = mine.)
Am in no hurry.
Are the Caribbean your limit?
Well Im in the Caribbean now Leo, so its a fairly easy option for me.
Ok... because I'd suggest you to come to Fernando de Noronha (down here).
Paradise on earth.
Alaska is amazing in the Spring and Summer.
Michigan's a great place to vacation if you're into outdoorsy stuff.
New York, new York.....

New Orleans....
especially with Mardi Gras around the corner...
great food, amazing architecture, fun little shops on Magazine Street, and the bars don't close.
plus you're practically a neighbor already...
laissez les bon temps roulez!
(I've spent many fun weekends there and am missing it terribly)
Hmm, I have always wanted to go to New Orleans actually... Have you been since Katrina? is it still the same?

Sounds like we found a winner. I'll be there in 3 weeks w1deawak3.
It was the WOW that finally won me over
Florence Y'all
The FBI is closing in now, w1de.
Let 'em come I've done nothing wrong, at least nothing that can be proven.
Not to hijack the thread or anything, but what is the deal with that water tower anyway, w1de? Did it used to say Florence Mall and then some pranksters whitewashed part of the 'M'? Why didn't the city fix that?
Y'all are a bunch a kooks up there in Cincy.
